Significant Projects

Rob is senior architect with over 25 years’ experience working across a diverse range of projects in WA and Tasmania, in various sectors including multi-residential, hotels, commercial office buildings and fitouts, health, education, shopping centres/retail, fast food, and correctional projects.

Following his graduation in 1994 from the University of Tasmania, Rob began his architectural career at Cameron, Chisholm and Nicol in Perth in 1995. He worked there for 19 years and became an Associate in 2004, leading several commercial and retail projects, including the RACWA Headquarters, Harbour Town Shopping Centre and Church House office redevelopment at 565 Hay St.  During this time he was also involved in the development and implementation of the office’s Quality Assurance system.

After returning to Tasmania with his young family, Rob commenced working for Xsquared Architects in 2016. He has been involved in several of the practice’s significant projects including the Southern Remand Centre and Vibe Hotel and Mixed Use Development project, where his attention to detail and skills in resolving complex issues were particularly well utilised.  He is adept collaborating with multiple stakeholders with a focus on project delivery, client liaison, documentation, procurement, and contract administration. Rob is currently the Project Architect for the new Risdon Prison Kitchen facility.

Rob is the only architect in Tasmania who is a current Green Star Accredited Professional. He helped to formulate the practice’s Sustainability Action Plan and in 2024 was appointed as an Associate.
