Matt is an accomplished Architectural Technician and brings extensive multidisciplinary experience to the role. He joined Xsquared Architects in August 2019 and over the last 20 years has worked in the architectural, engineering and lighting sectors of the building industry in WA, VIC, NSW, and Tasmania. His expertise centres on seamless collaboration with design and construction teams, ensuring effective coordination, issue resolution, and detailed reporting to both teams and clients.

His proficiency lies in an advanced understanding of Revit and diverse BIM systems, complemented by a deep knowledge of BIM processes and protocols. In his recent role as the BIM discipline lead at Xsquared Architects for the Macquarie Island Modernisation Project, Matt has refined his skills in developing clients’ BIM standards and execution plans. His certifications from both Building Smart Australasia and Building Smart International have significantly enhanced Matt’s insights into the intricate dynamics of employing BIM within the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors.

Additionally, Matt derives great pleasure from the construction documentation stage. Collaborating closely with engineers and consultants, he excels in producing high-quality documentation and ensures the application of all relevant building codes and standards. This results in deliverables that demonstrate excellent constructability. Matt excels in generating comprehensive building information models and meticulously monitoring project progress while maintaining stringent quality control standards.
