Under Construction

Lauderdale Primary School Redevelopment

Lauderdale Primary School XSA

Constructed in the late 1960s, the Lauderdale Primary School is being redeveloped to increase the school’s capacity due to increasing enrolments and to provide contemporary learning and support spaces.

Xsquared Architects is working with the Department for Education, Children and Young People on the masterplanning, design and delivery of the redevelopment, including the following scope of works:

  • Four contemporary general learning areas, with operable walls for flexibility, shared wet activity areas and alcoves for quiet activities
  • Improved outdoor environment including external paved areas with seating, new playground and connectivity of outdoor spaces to classrooms
  • New accessible pathways that connect the new classrooms to the main student entry to the school

Logistical challenges include a sloping site and staging of works so that the school can remain operational during construction.  The project is in the construction stage and is due for completion in late 2024.

This project provides a great opportunity to support the growing community of Lauderdale to ensure that the Lauderdale Primary School continues to meet their needs into the future.
