Xsquared Architects recently opened their Hobart Offices as part of the 2017 Open House Hobart Program.
Open House Hobart is in its 5th year, and provides access to spaces that otherwise are generally closed to public eyes, and encourages all members of the community to be engaged with their built environment through this process of greater transparency.
The Hobart office was visited by more that 60 visitors over a 3 hour period and was one of the most popular destinations on the self-guided programme.
Constructed in 2015 the Xsquared Architects office fitout makes a feature of using recycled materials wherever possible, either from the previous fitout or from other demolition sites around Hobart to create a dynamic open plan design studio. Visitors enjoyed seeing and hearing about the design’s sustainability ambitions, with the project registered with the Green Building Council of Australia for 6 star Green Star Certification.
