The Vibe Hotel and mixed use project at 36 Argyle Street, Hobart is an exciting development in the heart of the Hobart CBD.
The development is owned by RAADAS Property and is currently under construction by VOS Construction and Joinery.
The Completed development will consist of a ground floor Restaurant and entry foyer; a four level podium suitable for offices or medical consulting rooms; and a 114 room hotel with seven serviced apartments over nine floors. The design configuration is complex and challenging resulting in a striking and dramatic design of the facade with single and double floor height random vertical panels which will be a significant addition to the Hobart skyline. The first floor level includes a portion of the floor cantilevered over the hotel entry and feature ‘ribbon’ architectural fenestration will enliven and enrich the otherwise dull streetscape of Argyle Street.
Construction progress February 2019; the building works are now out of the ground and the first precast panels are starting to appear over the hoardings. The tower crane has been erected, which is a significant milestone as construction of the main structure and floors commences. The mezzanine slab level was the first pour which will be followed by the first floor slab at the end of February.
A prototype room has been constructed and approved ready for production of the prefabricated bathrooms to commence in March.
